Scenic painting

Scenic painting, an ancient Italian art for excellence, which exactly in Modena, just a few kilometres from the Spaziocontinuo® production site, finds its highest expression in the works of scenic designer, Rinaldo Rinaldi, together with his wife Maria Grazia Cervetti, among the last remaining custodians of this type of art and famous throughout the world for having created extraordinary scenic designs for some of the most renowned theatres.

Rinaldo Rinaldi creates his masterpieces in the Scenography Room of the Luciano Pavarotti Municipal Theatre, a spectacular attic with huge wooden trusses occupying the entire space above the stalls of the theatre itself.

Just like in a scenography room, in Litokol research centres, creativity, experimentation, innovation, and technology come together to develop the new decorative resins of SpazioContinuo®, a genuine project of applied art.

Rinaldo Rinaldi’s colour palette

The artist from Modena and his wife, in addition to being scenic painters are also masters of colour, and during their career have studied scientific, historical, and cultural aspects tied to the visual perception of colours themselves.

Through the skilful combination of pigments, natural earth colours and dyes, for more than 40 years they have been creating infinite colour palettes used to decorate their theatrical backdrops.

Based on this wealth of experience, Rinaldo Rinaldi designed a palette of 27 nuances for Spaziocontinuo®, characterised by balanced and harmonious colour schemes designed to furnish living spaces in a scenic key.
